• Diane Ramadan

    Executive Director

    Biography:
    Mrs. Ramadan joined the Leonis Adobe staff in February of 2006 as the Ranch and Facilities Manager. In 2009 she was promoted to the position of Executive Director. As an accomplished rider, she won numerous equestrian events in both English and Western competitions. In 1979, Diane moved to Ireland to prepare for the 1980 Summer Olympics. When the Olympics were boycotted, she stayed in Ireland and competed internationally in show jumping, dressage and three day events for the next five years. She later managed several prestigious horse breeding farms in the U.S. before turning her attention to veterinary medicine. As a veterinary technician for a large animal hospital she managed the laboratory and barn and assisted with surgery. Married with 4 children, Diane's love of California history, antiques, travel, animals and her pursuit of quality education make her a natural fit for the adobe. Diane is also proud of revamping the Rancho School tour program and receiving the 2014 California Association of Museums Superintendent's Award for Excellence in Museum Education.
  • Becky Oronoz

    School Tour Supervisor

    Biography:
    Becky is our newest addition to the Leonis Adobe as of 2016. She, her husband and 3 boys have lived in San Fernando Valley for 16 years. Originally she is from the small town of Lee Vining, CA at the Eastern Gateway to Yosemite. Becky's background in Customer Service and Administration make for a great fit for Leonis Adobe's Administrative needs.  She is excited to be a part of the Leonis Adobe team and looks forward to this new adventure.
  • Jenn Putman

    Communications and Collections Administrator

    Biography:
    Born and raised in Moorpark, Jenn started her work with California history in the Moorpark College Archaeology Program while a student at the High School at Moorpark College. She earned her BA in Creative Writing (minors, Museum Studies and Art) at Beloit College in Beloit, WI, graduating summa cum laude with departmental honors. Her past experience includes interning with the National Park Service as a park ranger in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, designing publicity materials for the Learning Enrichment and Disability Services office at Beloit College, and developing and curating exhibits for the Wright Museum of Art in Beloit, WI. Previously an intern during the summers of 2016 and 2017, Jenn officially joined the Leonis Adobe staff in 2018.
  • Dinna Pitt

    Historian/Curator

    Biography:
    Dinna earned her B.A. in Classical Civilization from UCLA, where she was on the Dean's Honor List. She received an M.A. in History from CSUN, where she graduated with distinction and was the recipient of the 2015 Best Graduate Paper Award. Her research on Miguel Leonis and French Basque ranch owners of 19th century Los Angeles was published in California History, the state's premier journal of historical writing on California. Dinna is also a history lecturer. Her current research focuses on the French population of 19th century California and their role in the establishment of the City of Angels.

    She is an active member of the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society and a volunteer for the Los Angeles Conservancy, the largest historic preservation organization in the United States. She has completed graduate coursework in architecture and previously worked as a business development professional. Dinna is an avid traveler and very involved in animal rescue.
  • Martin Hernandez Guardado

    Museum Groundskeeper

    Biography:
    Martin joined our staff in November of 2008. Martin has extensive experience in construction as well as landscaping. As our groundskeeper Martin maintains the Calabasas Creek Park . Martin also assists with our livestock.
  • Ulises Ortiz

    Museum Groundskeeper

    Biography:
    Ulises joined the Leonis Adobe staff in April 2009 as Museum Groundskeeper. As an integral part of the museum staff, Ulises helps take care of our many animals as well as the museum grounds. In his spare time, Ulises enjoys spending time with his son.

    Museum Groundskeeper

    Biography:
    Roberto joined our staff in September of 2013 as a Museum Groundskeeper. Roberto is a great asset and an integral part of the museum staff and helps take care of our animal friends as well as the museum grounds.
