• Diane Ramadan

    Executive Director

    Biography:
    Mrs. Ramadan joined the Leonis Adobe staff in February of 2006 as the Ranch and Facilities Manager. In 2009 she was promoted to the position of Executive Director. As an accomplished rider, she won numerous equestrian events in both English and Western competitions. In 1979, Diane moved to Ireland to prepare for the 1980 Summer Olympics. When the Olympics were boycotted, she stayed in Ireland and competed internationally in show jumping, dressage and three day events for the next five years. She later managed several prestigious horse breeding farms in the U.S. before turning her attention to veterinary medicine. As a veterinary technician for a large animal hospital she managed the laboratory and barn and assisted with surgery. Married with 4 children, Diane's love of California history, antiques, travel, animals and her pursuit of quality education make her a natural fit for the adobe. Diane is also proud of revamping the Rancho School tour program and receiving the 2014 California Association of Museums Superintendent's Award for Excellence in Museum Education.
  • Becky Oronoz

    Administrative Assistant

    Biography:
    Becky is our newest addition to the Leonis Adobe as of 2016. She, her husband and 3 boys have lived in San Fernando Valley for 16 years. Originally she is from the small town of Lee Vining, CA at the Eastern Gateway to Yosemite. Becky's background in Customer Service and Administration make for a great fit for Leonis Adobe's Administrative needs.  She is excited to be a part of the Leonis Adobe team and looks forward to this new adventure.
  • Michelle Covello

    Curator

    Biography:
    Michelle started at the Leonis Adobe in 2008 as a student intern through Moorpark College. After receiving her A.A. in Archaeology, she joined the Adobe staff as Curator. Michelle's work with the historical photographs, documents and artifacts in the Leonis Adobe collection is a perfect match with her interests in history, archaeology and research. Her role at the museum is vital to maintaining and preserving the rich history of the Leonis Adobe. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Michelle, her husband and two children have lived in nearby Hidden Hills since 1989.
  • Karen Cusack

    School Tour Supervisor

    Biography:
    Karen is a San Fernando Valley native and her love of the old west brought her to the Leonis Adobe Museum. Her background in Human Resources and Administration is a great match for her position as School Tour Supervisor. Being able to assist in bringing local history to children through school tours has to be the most rewarding job I've ever had! Karen lives locally with her family where they enjoy hiking and hanging out at the beach.
  • Camille Lagarde-Walker

    Graphics and Communications Coordinator

    Biography:
    Camille grew up in Santa Monica, California and enjoyed playing water polo, swim team, lifeguarding and swim instruction. She attended California State University, Long Beach with a background in Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Marketing. Now Camille lives in the San Fernando Valley with her husband, son and dog. She has experience in administration, customer service, graphic design, crafting, and marketing. Camille is excited to be part of the Leonis Adobe Museum where she will be assisting in the office with the Passport 2 History program, marketing, designing, and various other administrative tasks.
  • Jesus Puente

    Museum Caretaker

    Biography:
    Jesus Puentes has been our resident caretaker since 1983. He has helped reconstruct, build and repair almost everything on the museum grounds. After the 1994 earthquake he helped make new adobe bricks from the yard. Jesus considers the Adobe his home, and the museum is grateful to have the grounds in such dedicated and loyal hands.
  • Martin Hernandez Guardado

    Museum Groundskeeper

    Biography:
    Martin joined our staff in November of 2008. Martin has extensive experience in construction as well as landscaping. As our groundskeeper Martin maintains the Calabasas Creek Park . Martin also assists with our livestock.
  • Ulises Ortiz

    Museum Groundskeeper

    Biography:
    Ulises joined the Leonis Adobe staff in April 2009 as Museum Groundskeeper. As an integral part of the museum staff, Ulises helps take care of our many animals as well as the museum grounds. In his spare time, Ulises enjoys spending time with his son.
