Explore one of the oldest residences in Los Angeles County on this one-hour guided tour through the recreated functioning ranch of the "King of Calabasas," Miguel Leonis.
Return to 1880s California as you walk the rooms of our fully restored and furnished Monterey-style adobe house. Learn about Miguel Leonis, the six-foot-four, French-Basque "King of Calabasas," and Espiritu Chijulla Leonis, his Chumash Native American common-law wife, who won an extraordinary legal case to claim a wife's share of Miguel's estate following his death. And feed animals authentic to the period-including Merino sheep, Angora and Nubian goats, and chickens.
